The aircraft messages your receiver sends. These are public radio broadcasts, not personal data.
Your station key, stored as a one-way hash. We do not store the key itself.
Your station's approximate location, calculated from the aircraft it hears and rounded to about 11 km.
Connection statistics: when the station was first and last seen, whether it is online, and its message rate.
Your antenna position, if you use MLAT. It is held in memory only while your station is connected.
We do not store your IP address. It is used to keep the connection open and discarded when the connection closes. We do not ask for your name, email, or address. There are no accounts.
What we collect when you visit the map
Your IP address and browser type, kept briefly for security and rate limiting.
We do not use analytics or advertising trackers. Aircraft photos are loaded from planespotters.net and map tiles from OpenFreemap directly by your browser, under their own privacy policies.
How we use it
To combine your data with other stations' and show it on the map and in the API.
To calculate aircraft positions with MLAT.
To show your station on the coverage roster.
To keep the service running and secure.
What is public
Your station's generated identifier, approximate location, first and last seen dates, and online status.
The combined aircraft data from all stations, published as open data under the ODbL 1.0 licence.
Your exact antenna position is never made public.
The Station setup page
If you use our Station software, its setup page runs in your browser on your own network. It requests map tiles from OpenFreemap, address search from Nominatim, ground elevation from Open-Meteo, and a rough starting position from ipwho.is. None of this data is sent to us.
Deleting your data
Email hello@flightportrait.com with your station key and we will delete your station's history. Aircraft data already published under ODbL cannot be recalled.
